Problem with Brush Library

Hello! I have read other similar topics but I have not found the problem that occurs to me.
I draw a path, either with the pencil or brush, but then I select the path and choose the type of path in the brush library and there is no change. This library does not work or I am doing something wrong. Does anyone know how to fix it?

SOLVED: After carrying out many tests, the solution was that the pencil did not double click me, causing a bad selection
