you can check for a backup file.

and in the future save your work with increasing version names.  i like to append _v000, _v001 etc to the file name.

does that happen with all fla files or just one particular fla?

that fla is corrupt.

if you have another version, use it.  or you can try repairing by renaming the fla to a rar and using winrar to repair the rar.  then rename the repaired rar to a fla and retry opening in animate.

you're welcome.

to simplify my work i made a jsfl script and added it to my commands folder and assigned a short-cut so the correct _vXXX is appended and incremented with a short-cut key.  if you want to use it, let me know.

if you have a corrupt fla file you can:

1. try to repair* it

2. look for a working auto recovery** file created by animate

3. if you published a working swf, you may be able to decompile (eg, using sothink's decompiler) it to recreate a working fla.

*

rename the fla to a rar>repair the rar with winrar>rename the repaired rar to a fla>open the repaired fla

**

check for an auto-recovery fla in:

win: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\<animate version>\en_US\Configuration

mac: Users/<username>/Application Support/Adobe/<animate/flash version>/en_US/Configuration/
