Select Timeline Hotkey? (Or: next/prev frame hotkeys)
I'm trying to use a hotkey to move to the next and previous frame during animation, so I don't need to select a frame on the timeline with the cursor. The workflow works with using F5, F6 and F7, but there is no 'previous frame' or 'next frame' hotkey. I found an answer on this forum that helped me create a .jsfl file for previous and next frame, however it still only will work when I click on the timeline first. In other words, I will be drawing a frame, I'll tap F5 to add a blank keyframe, tap F7 to create blank keyframe, keep drawing, and switch between those 3 actions to animate; but obviously it would drastically increase efficiency to be able to move forward and back along the timeline without having to go in with a mouse and select frames. The prev/next hotkeys added as .jsfl commands works for this purpose, but only when I select a frame within the timeline with the mouse. Is there a hot key to have the timeline be 'selected' so these .jsfl commands will be able to navigate prev/next frame, or how can I move between drawing, F5 & F7, and pressing keys on the keyboard to move forward and back along the timeline?
I'm creating a long traditional animation and am confused how this isn't a standard hot key for any animator. I will click 'correct answer'; for any comment that can resolve my issue. I'm very grateful for your help.
For reference (and to help anyone with similar issue), here is the process I used to create the prev/next hotkeys:
