Selecting Bones

I've been playing with the bones tool and have got it fairly worked out, like the odd use of the Select tool vs. the Transform tool for manipulating the Armature, but I can't get a reliable method for selecting a bone. I'm only able to select a bone using the selection tool so it shows in the Property panel about 10% of the time. 90% of the time, nothing gets selected.

The documentation for On-Stage Controls at Use the Bone tool animation in Animate CC doesn't work for me at all.

Any tricks I'm missing?

Can you try restoring preferences and let us know if that helped?

Re-created prefs, restarted Animate and reloaded .fla, very slight improvement. Was able to get the bone joint 4 pointed arrow to appear, but only on the very first joint. It's still nearly impossible to select any given bone or joint. But wait! Jumping out of Animate to this forum then back seems to fix it.  Hmm... Considering that trying to create a bone structure has failed 9 out of 10 times, and that the bone joints move around within a symbol instance, I think I will stop trying to use it. It seems easer to just do it by hand.

A friend of mine and myself have had the same issues with the Bone tool. The work around for us was to save what you had and restart animate cc and then it seemed to work.

Same problem here. But restart Animate doesn't solve the problem.

My solution: The Object was too small on the Stage. As i resized my object everything works fine....

The bone tools in Animate are a trainwreck. Not suitable for any kind of serious work.

Save yourself the frustration, and install the free and poweful Flanimate tools for Animate CC instead, and animate your characters with ease.
