I'm a bit irritated by how you have to pay around £19.00 a month just to use it.

I would buy it even if it is £30.00 but only if you are able to then have it perminently without having to pay roughly £20 constantly.

If i am wrong and you just need to pay once then cound someone notify my on this thread.

Thank you.

no, it's a subscription product only.  (but when it - flash cs6 - was last for sale it was hundreds of pounds, https://prodesigntools.com/products/adobe-cs6-pricing-list.html)

so, you're pricing is unrealistic.

Moho is predominantly a cut-out character animation app, and one of the best ones out there for this type of animation. Supports both vector and bitmap assets. Drawing is vector-based, just like Animate CC. Perpetual license and quite affordable.

OpenToonz has basic puppet animation as well, and is completely free (open source). Very easy to rig and animate 2d characters with its toolset. If you're looking for Terri Gilliam type puppet animation, look no further. Both vector drawing and bitmap drawing is supported.

Blender offers excellent character animation tools, both for 2d and 3d work, but may be harder to learn. The seamless 2d into 3d environment is brilliant, however, and it is hard to argue with 'free' again. Drawing is vector-like, but bitmap assets may be used as well for character parts. It takes more technical knowledge to rig characters in Blender or any 3d app, of course.

Another excellent cut-out ('puppet') animation software is CelAction. This software saved the British animation industry by itself. Peppa Pig is animated in it, for example. Yet somehow it is still not that widely known. Perpetual license and quite affordable.

CelAction doesn't offer drawing tools, so the to-be animated assets and character parts must be made in an external design app such as Photoshop.

Here's James Nethery's latest 2D character rig using Toon Boom Harmony. This is how it's done folks.
