strings contain e with acent

Hi,
I am having a really bad time with strings and url-encode.
I managed now my ampersands to get urlencoded in ASP and Flash, so they can be read as "&".

As usual comes the next issue.
The data is coming from an Access DB and many values contain the French or Spanish letter "e" with acent >é<.
The normal encode for this letter would be >%E9<.

So the name Béatrice would be >B%E9atrice< encoded.
But the string I get from ASP is >B%03Batrice< !! which comes out in Flash with unreadable letters.
So looks unacceptable in Flash, but if I send this value to a text file urlencoded has a horrible result.

Does anyone have a clou how I can solve this issue???

But When i tried to get the URL Encode from flash for the Letter "é" Returns the following

yes, you are right, sometimes its >%C3%A9< and this is what makes it so difficult, sometimes its >%E9<,
now in my latest files its >%25E9< and this works.
So with >%25E9< the name "Beatrice" comes out with accent.

Is this not strange? - wonder if anybody could give me some explanation, why these 3 different urlencodes for
one letter >é<.

Anyhow, after some days I solved most of the chars issues.
It is a combination of several components together.

Depending, if data comes from Databases or Text files, the sending and receiving ASPs must have sometimes text Urlencoded, sometimes not, some needed special functions to encode chars.
The used LoadVars had to have >decode(un-escape)<must write like this bec is censored word<<, sometimes without, text assignments must be sometimes >un-escape<, sometimes >toString<, sometimes not, and so on ….

After all, most characters come out correctly now.

But still some are unsolved like:

äs
äinÃÂ
í
ž

These characters seem to appear in Languages like Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Hungarian, Croatia etc.
Maybe you know any function to convert these characters?
