Stuttering during camera movements

Explorer ,
Nov 19, 2025 Nov 19, 2025

Dear all, unfortunately the camera moves stutter a lot, both when exporting and while working. Is this related to my computer’s performance? What can I change to minimize the stuttering? Thank you very much!

that's caused by number of pixels moved from one frame to the next and your fps setting.

start by increasing the fps to 60.

if that still stutters, you can try 120 fps.  but if the movement from one frame to the next is 2 or 3 pixels, stuttering is going to occur no matter what fps is used.

does your animation play smoothly when tested in animate?

120 fps is the max, but whether your computer (or a viewer's computer) can handle any fps is a different issue (unless you export a video).

thanks again, klad. I'll try that. I only need the exported file to work without much stuttering.

the export should be a video (not swf) then (assuming no code needs to execute).

thanks, kglad. yeah, I know that. the problem is, that by increasing the fps, I need to increase the frames to keep the timing, so the result is the same. maybe there is a way in the export-settings?

if you're moving more than 1 px per frame, you're going to see stuttering unless you blur the object to obscure the stutter..

yes, that is logical. I work with tweening in the the camera layer, so i asumed that animate would do that so it doesn't stutter - but honestly, I think I have to live with that stutter ...

animate does nothing to prevent stuttering.

unfortunately, in this case, yes. a tweening from a to b should work without stuttering, and it does, mostly. but not so with the camera movements, it seems.
