I had this problem as well.  Im my case the issue was with a standard system font Garamond Italic.  Not a custom font.

My workaround:

1. Use FontBook to view the fonts on your system.

2. Disable Garamond Italic.  No need to delete or disable any other syle of Garamond.

After this Animate 2021 launched properly and works very well.

Tried all this but still no joy:

The Adobe Animate Splash screen appears for a second and then application quits.

I have been having tons of issues with scaling tweens. They test okay. But when I publish and upload. The images are all mess up. If I change the animation in the tween to a fade in. It works perfectly. I can tell when it isw going to crash my publish. When I drag the playhead through the scaled part of the timeline, I see marks on the image as it scales. This is happenning way too often for it to be user error! If I change the tween to a fade int it works perfectly! I can't use fadein on some of my tweens. Please help!

@terryj41605550 : Could you please share sample files with screenshots or submit this issue at bug report (Animate > Help menu > Submit Bug/ Feature Request) with file links to help us look into this behaviour?

Sure this is driving me nuts. The animations are very simple animations. I did try clearing may cache this last time it happened and that seem to work. But I just created a fade in animation of an image and it will not test even.  When testing I get a blank black page. I am going to check to see if the image itself is somehow corrupt. I'll let you know.

I deactivated ALL (~8 families) of my custom fonts (via FontExplorer Pro) and was able to launch Animate successfully on macOS 10.15.7, although Animate still complains about wanting to install the Osaka font (what's up with that, seriously) on launch?! I then re-activated my fonts one-by-one and it would appear that a full version of Futura (Adobe) and Plantin Pro (Monotype) were the ones causing problems. Neither of these font families are reporting any errors or corruption, and create absolutely no problems in any other application.

While you're fixing this Animate font problem, perhaps you could FINALLY remove that silly Osaka font nag?

Hi, after a new release I cannot move symbols (Edit multiple frames) with the arrow keys (Windows). I can select an object/keyframes, but not move those.
I still can select AND move symbols without selecting 'Edit multiple frames'. Could it be a bug?

@agneti We are aware of this issue and looking into it. In the meantime you can use Properties panel to move the objects using X and Y hot-text field (drag once and use arrow keys after that in the X / Y field in PI) when in Edit Multiple Frames if that helps.

Thanks!

Animate is crashing on startup. I'm running Mac OS 10.15.6.  Any ideas why? Can I revert to animate 2020?

Hey, not sure why it's crahsing but yes, you can revert to older versions (although you I think you lose your preferences if you do).
Open up the creative cloud app and click on "All Apps"  in the left hand collumn. Should be the first one.
Then scroll to the installed all app you're looking for and right next to were the button for "Open" is you'll see three dots like this: ...
Click on those and then click Other versions and it should take you to page where you can revert.

hello!

I was disappointed that the problem I had in the last update was not resolved in this update.

Copying simple objects from large project files takes too long.

This is a problem that didn't happen at all in previous versions.

It is an incomprehensible error that it takes such a long time to copy a very simple object, even a simple line.

Previous version (red symbol AnimateCC version)
-Large project file-Complex symbol copying: takes a long time
-Large project file-Simple symbol copying: takes a long time ★★★<< problem
-Small project file-Complex symbol copying: takes a long time
-Small project file-Simple symbol copying: quickly finished

This version (blue symbol Animate CC version)
-Large project file-Complex symbol copying: takes a long time
-Large project file-Simple symbol copying: quickly finished
-Small project file-Complex symbol copying: takes a long time
-Small project file-Simple symbol copying: quickly finished

Many people have the same problem.
I hope you can check and update this issue.
Thanks 😄

I am also experiencing this issue with v20. It's especially bad when there's complex vectors anywhere in the file or when art brushes have been used. I've had to revert to version 19 for some projects. I'm on Mac by the way.

Hi

Could you please tell me of any Adobe software that could take 2d PDFs and convert them to 3d PDFs?

I'm excited to check out all these features. Dissapointed that I MUST now use windows ink to get pressure sensitivity working with my Wacom. Windows ink is unstable and frustrating. I miss the days of plug and go with my Wacom.

Hi - WinTab tablet mode is still available and you can change the settings from Edit > Preferences > Edit Preferences > Drawing  > Tablet Input

It is just that the WinTab is made as a default option.

Thanks!
