How can one movie clip tell another movie clip how to behave?

I have two movie clips, each with 2 keyframes. If movieclip "A" is on frame 1, what code can I use to tell movieclip "B" to goto and stop on frame 1?  By the same token, if mc A is on frame 2, mcB should also stop on frame 2.
