copy paste tab characters

Hi!

I noticed that if you type in tab characters in a Textfield that has embedFonts equal to true and you copy and paste the complete text in that same Textfield, then you loose the tab characters. If no embedded fonts are being used then all works fine.

Anyone any idea how this can be solved?

Some more background information: I would like to paste strings (including tab characters) from Excel in a Textfield and I would like to use embedded fonts.

you have an input textfield, you enter text, including tabs, and then copy that text and then you paste that text into the same textfield?

yes indeed that is what I do. Also when I directly paste number separated

by TABS from Excel, the TABS somehow disappear. But only when I work with embedded fonts. I have tried to select more 'glyphs' in the Font properties in Flash CS5, but until now no postive result.

Any Idea kglad?

no, i don't see that problem.

ok, too bad. Well maybe I can add that I define the (embedded) font in a library in Flash CS5 and export it in

an SWF that gets loaded in an other SWF that is an actionscript only project in Flash Builder. I will run some other tests to figure out what is going on here.
