Select everything in the timeline and right click on it to cut frames then hit F8 and you will create a new symbol. Right click on the new empt timeline and select Paste frames which paaste youart inside the symbol. Now go into the Library and drag your new symbol onto the stage then right click on the timeline and create a Classic tween. Got to the place where you want the art to fade out and hit F6 to create a keyframe. Go to the last frame and hit F6 again to create another keyframe. Select that keyframe and go to the Properties palette Windows>Properties if it doesn't come up. Scroll down to Style and select Alpha and turn it all the way to 0%. Then scrub your playhead and you will see the entire scene fade to nothing

Errr... why don't you just cover the entire stage with a solid black graphic and then fade it in?

I want to fade out of the scene. It consists of 3 items, a background, a small image and a small line of text. It is the last scene f the animation.
