Turn off advanced layers via script?

I'm needing to ensure and turn off advanced layers on some fla files, but will need to do this through some sort of automation. I can see lots of examples on how to use advanced layers in code but nothing for checking if they are enabled/disabled or how to turn them off/on for a fla file.

you can use jsfl:   fl.getDocumentDOM().getTimeline().advancedLayersEnabled = false;   Working with the JavaScript API (adobe.io)
