Bridge 2026 Broke My Workflow — Drag & Drop and Dropbox Integration Completely Dead on macOS

New Here ,

Dear Adobe team,

I just lost around two hours trying to understand why Bridge 2026 behaves completely differently from Bridge 2025 — and honestly, I’m very frustrated.

Here’s what happened:

After updating to Bridge 2026 on macOS,

•I can no longer drag and drop folders from Finder or the Dock into Bridge.

•Bridge keeps opening the same “stuck” default folder over and over, no matter what I do.

•Even after a complete reset and reinstall, it ignores my actions and locks onto the first folder I ever opened in Bridge 2026.

•It also triggers macOS “Move out of Dropbox?” prompts, even though my Dropbox files are fully synced and local.

When I downgraded back to Bridge 2025, everything immediately started working again — drag & drop, proper folder memory, and no Dropbox issues.

So this is clearly a regression in Bridge 2026, not a system or user problem.

I’ve used Bridge for years and rely on it daily for managing photos, videos, PDFs, and design assets.

This new version completely broke that workflow and wasted a lot of time on something that simply worked perfectly before.

Please fix this as soon as possible or at least provide a preference option like

--use_legacy_file_api permanently in settings, so users on macOS can keep working normally.

Two hours of digging, testing, and reinstalling older versions just to make Bridge usable again — that’s about the same as a full month of my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.

Hi @Wojciech1974 ,

Thank you for your feedback.

We’re currently working on a fix for the issue with dragging and dropping folders from Finder to the Dock into Bridge.

In the meantime, please hold the Command key and drag the file or folder onto the Bridge icon to continue working.

Could you please share more details about the other issues you are facing?

We appreciate your patience and support.

Thanks,

Bridge Team

You CANNOT use Dropbox along with Bridge. This has been a problem for years because Adobe refuses to support the Dropbox (and other cloud services) APIs which would provide integration.
