My team uses box as our backup and versioning solution. We work from the client, which keeps an image of our folder structure on our local workstations and streams in the relevant file when it's in use.
This is a vital workflow for our team, and it's needed to keep things backed up and easily accessible to distributed members. So, we're not changing that.
However, when using Stager for mocking up 3D scenes, any PNGs, JPGs, OBJ, FBX (and probably more) will not open directly from the box client. On our end, it's the same as importing a file from our local files in the explorer (it looks the same, too). But Stager will refuse to import, giving an error message "There was a problem reading the file" or "UNABLE TO IMPORT MODEL: Stager supports poygon based geometry only. the file does not contain any supported content."
I assume Stager is not allowing for the content to stream in before it checks for compatability, but I don't know for sure. I would love this to be fixed at some point, it's frustrating to constantly manage files on my desktop to work around this issue.
