Do You Think Adobe BC Will Survive?

It seems to me that all the help info is very outdated for Business Catalyst. Even the videos on BC Gurus is very old. ALL in all, it doesn't seem like there is much investment into the future of Business Catalyst. It seems like an awesome platform but I am not sure if I should waste precious time and resources into something that Adobe isn't willing to put their time and resources into. Any thoughts?

are you talking about BC (as in world secure systems) that is the server which EVERYTHING Adobe runs on?

the BC app for dreamweaver was dropped because Adobe didn't want to hire anyone to look after it and BC Gurus is not "up to date" with a lot of their suff because thats not what they are about.

Not putting resources into the app is exactly the kind of thing Im talking about. If they planed on supporting Business Catalyst long term they should have no problem making this kind of investment. Its just hard for me to justify suggesting to all new clients that we go with BC when I am not sure what Adobe's long term plans are. I really want to use BC but I guess I am a little nervous about the future of the service. I was hoping to get a few opinions from people who currently use Adobe Business Catalyst for their day to day operations. Do you feel secure hosting client sites on Adobe BC?

Business Catalyst is curently working on core of BC. Now you have ability to create own apps that will support business your clients in admin site. No just on front-end.

I had created 5 apps that extend BC for my clients and BC user have ability to buy it on BC app store. https://www.bcappstore.com/authors/peter-knezek

This developing proces is difficult and for the number of sold applications is disadvantageous. If it concerns a specific extension missing you can contact me and we will see what is possiblo.

Just curious, How do you know that, "Business Catalyst is currently working on core of BC"? Could you please post a link to any supporting information that you have?

Thats not core BC.

And to disrespect BC but you do know the Admin has pretty much always been able to run in HTTPS?

When BC stored credit card details early in its life you had to go into HTTPS URL version to view them and when in there the admin 98% worked.

Changes adobe made less worked when they took over and some things like the editor and links being worldsecure and not the default etc were in place.

With open platform as they made that sandboxed and more secure BC actually switched to HTTPS in admin some time ago. They just did not fix the few elements that did not work properly under it.

All the recent work and announcement stuff is really not much work going on at all.

yes I know and yes Adobe could wake up and do more but you asked for a link for what's happening and there are more then one message at that blog...

BC gurus has got some old stuff, check out Adobe Business Catalyst Tutorials By Adobe BC Experts | BC Academe they have some good tutorials which are more recent.
