why is the identity of mail.mydomain.com cannot be verified?

When creating an email account in Mac OSX Mail why do I get the message "The identity of mail.mydomain.com" cannot be verified? I know I can change the setting to "always trust *.b.hostedemail.com..." but how can it be that an Adobe mail server is not trusted? If this is not trusted so who is?
