When using the Ricoh GRIIIx, Denoise AI cleans up the color noise quite well, but leaves very distinct luminance noise. This is especially true at higher ISO's such as ISO 5000 and 6400. Not sure why it cleans up much noisier images from older cameras better. And, yes, grain is turned off.
Dropbox worked, but this appears a different raw than what you showed in your screen capture, so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see that is objectionable.
That said, I did open the processed Denoised DNG and did more work in Detail with the Luminance Noise slider, which does work, but I'm not sure that's what your after.
I see nothing here that would indicate AI not working properly on this camera.

The AI is really not working properly on the Ricoh GRIII cameras. If the RAW from member mrouleau did not reveal it to you then please download and try my raw file from the GRIII. It's obvious that AI Denoise is NOT working properly on these cameras. I already posted examples which prove it above...
@TheDigitalDog Whatever. The merged thread shows I'm not the only one seeing this. If you can't or won't admit that Denoise AI isn't working as expected on the Ricoh GRIIIx, I don't know what to say.
A7RIII, ISO 51200, treated with Lightroom AI Denoise (no additional manual NR adjustements): very good result! https://rebafoto.ch/dpr/LR_51200.jpg
This clearly shows that AI Denoise works perfectly with the A7RIII files (and no additional manual adjustements are needed), while it miserably fails with Ricoh GRIII files. A growing number of photographers confirms this.
This concludes this discussion for me, because the case is clear!
Hi, I am not sure if AI Noise reduction is working as expected with my Ricoh GR IIIx DNG files. Already in the Preview there is no (really) noticable difference, neither is in the NR DNG that is created. Manual noise reduction has a much more pronounced effect. AI works fine with my Nikon Z7 RAW files though. Is it the Subject/AI, or is it the specific Ricoh DNG? Any ideas?
