Hi Everyone,
Wanted to ask what people's general approaches are to adding audio in Captivate 8?
I'm finding it quite lengthy and counterproductive to add a full voiceover recording to a whole project, and divide it up by slide markers. Captivate seems to only really like you doing this 'once', as when you save, all subsequent slide lengths are altered to the audio length.
The best way I have found is to edit and export clips from Adobe Audition, and then import these on a slide by slide basis. Even this is slightly problematic if you have audio that needs to stretch over several slides in a software simulation.
Thanks in advance for your comments,
Ben
Hi Ben,
I prefer recording in Audition myself (control freak ), but will also create separate audio clips, one for each slide. Then I'll import them all to the Library and drag each one to the slide in case of slide audio. Good labeling helps a lot.

Hi there
I believe the standard approach is to narrate each slide as you go along.

Hi Rick,
I agree, if you are voicing that is very doable. However, I am referring to audio recorded with a voiceover artist, in a separate session away from Captivate.

Hi Lilybiri,
I think I'm in line with you here. Audition allows more flexibility in audio editing, and the workflow is subsequently easier in Captivate.
Thanks,
Ben

I have a question, I imported a powerpoint into Captivate. On my intro slide i added a wav file with intro music but I also want to add a welcome message but when I try it keeps replacing the music audio file with my voice. Is it not possible to add 2 wav files to one slide??

Hi Blancaa,
I would use the background audio for the music file. You should then be able to add a welcome message on your slide.

IDBen- It worked the only problem is that now it plays on each slide in the presentation. I only want the audio in the first slide. Any idea? Thank you!

You could use the system audio track for that. Or you can use the 'Play Audio' command triggered by an event.
If you want to keep the background audio, you can turn it off for all slides except the first.
