Hello!

I just did a fresh install on a new work laptop of Captivate 9 and it keeps crashing when I open a file.  I tried "run as admin" and I cleared my cache.  Any ideas? I'm wondering if it's a security/software conflict of some sort.  I've never had this issue before.

Thanks.

Could it be the file that you are trying to open. rather than Captivate that is causing the crash?

Do you have a backup of the file?  If so rename it with a ".cptx" extension and try to open that...

KMH@LMI,

Just to clarify, when you say "when I open a file", do you mean a particular file or does this crashing happen when you try to open any *.cptx file? When you mean a particular file, always the same, then LC Developer can be right. You should try to open another file or create a new one with a bit of dummy content, close and reopen it and see if that works.

If you can't open any file without Captivate crashing, then something's conflicting between Captivate and software environment is going on.
But to help you we need to know what you mean.
