Hi, I'm trying to get an assessment to do the following in Captivate 7 version 7.0.1.237 in conjunction with our LMS - Cornerstone:
I've set the Quiz Pass/Fail Options to 80% pass. This is working.
I've set the Quis Pass/Fail Option "If Passing Grade, Action: Exit" and I've set it to "Continue" and added a next slide that Closes the Project. Both seem to work.
I've set the Quiz Pass/Fail Option "If Failing Grade, Allow User 3 Attempts. Action: Sent email to ###". An email pops up at each failed attempt, rather than after 3. Is there a way to know what happens (the slide Action) after the 1st failed attempt? After the 2nd failed attempt? I've tested it with both the book marking (Self Paced Learning) feature on and off and both, once I close the assessment, go back in to the end slide and reclose the course.
I have added a slide at the end so when the user clicks Close on the results slide, it continues to the last slide and the Action on that slide is Close Project.
Again, I seem to be having problems with:
Any suggestions on how I can fix those?
Thank you!

Some of what you are asking for here should be done in the LMS side, not in the Captivate module.
Setting the quiz in Captivate to allow three attempts is not the same as setting the module in your LMS to have three attempts. Each time you launch your module from the LMS, the LMS will consider this ONE attempt, regardless of how many times the user attempts the quiz during each launch.
The Open EMAIL action in Captivate will only do just that...open a blank email. And since you have it set as the action for failing the quiz, it will do this each time the user attempts and fails the quiz. There is no default option to wait until after the user fails three times. (However, you could create a conditional advanced action that checks the value of the system variable that tracks quiz attempts and use your On Quiz Fail event to trigger this conditional action.)
Captivate out of the box doesn't provide a way to populate the email with anything other than the email address of the person you want the email sent to. And Captivate doesn't automatically send the email for you. It requires the course participant to explicitly send the email. (There are apparently ways to code JavaScript to do this if you're willing to learn about it.)
So if you want some kind of report email sent to you or a manager each time the user attempts the module, THAT is something you should be talking to your LMS administrator or vendor about.
Self-paced Learning bookmarking is disabled as soon as you turn on LMS reporting. LMSs use Resume Data Bookmarking, but not all LMSs support this feature well.
