Audio is being affected by other buttons

I have audio that is attached to a play button on each slide. Below are my Advanced Actions driving the action. Seemingly inconsistently, clicking any other button on the slide e.g. a close-out button or "show caption/text" button would pause or play the audio. Sometime even advanced the slide . What am I doing wrong?

I'm really confused now, you tell in your explanation that the audio is attached to a button. But in the Action accordion that you show the advanced actions for the Slide, which both set the status variable for Audio to 0.

What are A_Parts_Pause and A_Parts_Next? Are those just images or buttons or shape buttons?

And could you post a screenshot of the timeline as well? I want to see the pause moments for the buttons, if they have a pause. You use cpCmndPause, but never cpCmndResume somewhere?
