Can Captivate 9 launch Acrobat for displaying interactive 3D objects?

I’m still fairly new to Captivate so please bare with me….

I’m using captivate 9 to create content for pitching my company's training capabilities at meetings as its a great way to showcase video, software simulation and quizzes all in one smooth presentation. I'm tying to figure out how to incorporate my PDFs that have embedded interactive 3D objects in them.  I know Captivate doesn’t work with interactive 3D objects, but I would be satisfied if I could click a button and have Captivate launch Acrobat to open the pdf (just so I can quickly navigate to it and avoid fumbling around in front of large groups of people). I tried using click boxes set to “Open URL of file”, but the pdf opens in my browser, which doesn’t recognize the interactive 3D objects in the pdf. I’ve looked around a good deal and it seems like there was a way to do this with Captivate 3. Its not a show stopper, but would be really nice.

You can put the pdf separately on a web server and use Open URL command, or

use Open file and include the pdf in the package. Be careful not to break

the link, pdf has to be at the same path in the package.

I tried that, the problem is the interactive 3D objects are only recognizable by Acrobat, and the "Open URL" opens the pdf in my browser instead.

Sorry, it seems not to be possible.
