Hi Guys,
I hope everyone is well.
I have just recorded my screen but when I view it in my web browser the screen recording is very fast compared to the actual recording. is there a way of screen recording the screen to the actual users speed?
Mnay thanks,
Peter

Please, give some more information.
How did you record: are you talking about HD Video Demo (in CP6 or later) or about the Automatic Capture recording? For the latter one, check the FPS setting in Preferences, Project, Publish settings.
Which version of Captivate? I know you posted a lot of questions, but cannot remember version used by each user.

Hi Lilybiri,
Thanks for getting back to me. I am using captivate 6 .
I went to insert recording slide> clicked ok> Automatic>mode:Demo>No planning. I have seletd the screen resolution to be big as i want to record the whole screen but when i view the recording it is extremely fast compare to my mouse movements. I checked the FPS and it is 30 shall i increase it? Thanks i appreciate your help.
Mnay thanks,

Hmm, 30FPS is the normal speed, do not increase because it will even speed up, you could try to decrease (it is frames per second, look at the slide durations). You must have done all activities very quickly. Do you have a lot of FMR-slides, you can recognize them because they have a red line in their timeline, like a Video demo slide (they are video really). For the static slides: in demo mode, normally nothing will be paused, but you can always insert a click box, or a next button with a pausing point to allow the user to take all the time he wants. Are you planning to add VO? If you add audio, the slides will be extended for the duration of the audio clips.

Hi Lillybiri,
Thanks very much I appreciate your time as you always get back to me and everyone on this site!!!. I have only one red line slide. I did it slow but I will record it again. No i am not planning to add VO. Do you think the screen resolution has something to do with it? as i wanted to capture the whole screen and i increased the resolution.
Thanks,
Best regards,
Peter

Never heard that changing the resolution (you mean rescaling project?) can change the speed of a static slides capture. Looking out to another experiment done by you: try not to do too much slides, but repeat the rescaling work flow.

Hi Lilibiri
I have re-recorded my screen and it is working fine but i have this issue now
I have screen recorded my screen full size but i wanted to add some informatation. I added a few blank slides but the blank slides were really big making it difficult to enter text. So i minimised the screen resolution to get the slide smaller size so i can enter text on the blank new slide but when i viewed the screen recording when published it is all fuzzy and not clear i have selected optimised for all slides but the screen recording is fuzzy once i have changed resized the screen resolution. How can i resolve this?
Many thanks

The solution is NOT to record at full screen and then resize later. Record with a capture window that is EXACTLY the size your finished output will need to be, and don't resize at all. Then your captures will be crisp and clear. Resizing always causes issues with loss of resolution.

@Rod I told him that, but the real question is: why is the published CP-file playing much quicker after resizing? I never heard about it. Framerate has been checked and is the usual 30FPS, there is only one FMR-slide, all the others are static slides.

Hi Lilybiri,
Thank you for your help. Rod has told me to record with a capture window with the the same size as my slide so i will do that so i will not be resizing. I really appreciate your help.
Many thanks and all the best,
Peter

Indeed, that will always deliver the best quality, rescaling is never a good idea for bitmap applications. But then we will never know what caused that weird change in speed by rescaling? I wanted to know about that.

Hi Liiybiri,
i am not sure what caused it but I am re-recording without rescaling. The quality is much better thanks but on the other side the screen recording doesnt capture the whole screen, If i find out what caused the change of speed i will let you know.
Many thanks once again,
Peter

Hi Rod,
Thank you very much, I will re-record the tutorial with the capture widow with the same size as my slides.
All the best,
Peter
