Why can't I copy/paste slide notes in Captivate 2017? This is pretty basic, but neither right click nor ctrl c works.

I already explained that CTRL-C and CTRL-V works, but you have to copy from a non-formatted text, which is possible as an example with NotePad. It would be a bug if everyone had the same experience, which seems not be the case.

What do you mean? I just double-checked: I could copy/paste notes within the slide notes, from Notepad to Slide Notes, from Slifde Notes to Notepad? Which copy/paste did you try?

I have no copy/paste functionality from within my slide notes. I can't right click in them at all. Nothing comes up when I right click from within the text box inside slide notes or closed captioning or text-to-speech. Not in the slide notes window. Not in any of the pop up windows to deal with specific problems. I have no options to copy, paste, cut, etc., and keyboard shortcuts don't work either. CTRL C, CTRL V, none of that works inside Slide Notes in Captivate 2017 for me.

I only use shortcuts. Something seems to be corrupted, please clean the Preferences. Close Captivate, run the CleanPreferences file which corresponds with your OS. You can find it in the subfolder 'utils' in the Captivate installation folder.

Okay. I'll try that again.

Thanks.

Did that work for you?  It didn't work for me.

This function does not work for me as well.  Is there going to be a fix. Typing the scrip is time consuming and there is no spell check. Please fix this bug.

I have to use Ctrl C and Ctrl V too as right-clicking and then trying to use copy and paste does not work for me in Captivate slide notes.

Copy from which app?

I'm not using an app.  I'm in Captivate 2017.  In previous versions of Captivate I could right-click in slide notes to copy or paste text.  Now I have to use the shortcuts.  And I use Word or Notes for the text from which to copy.

If you did read my previous answers, you would have seen that you should never copy from Word.

To add some additional explanation...

I copied the text out of the application it was originally in (e.g. Word, OneNote, Outlook, etc.) and pasted that text into Notepad (this removes the formatting the other application adds automatically to the text (e.g. Font, Font Size)). Then I copied from Notepad and pasted into the Slide Notes in Captivate without issue. In Captivate 8, I could paste right into the Slide Notes section from OneNote, with Captivate 2019 I have to add the step with Notepad.
