Hi,

I had similar difficulties and re-recorded the simulation after adjusting the recording area.

As good practice, please confirm the operating system and version of Captivate you are using. A screenshot would be helpful.

The simulation is not accessible for cropping like adding an image to a slide. Sorry.

I run several small tests before recording simulations to make sure I set it all correctly

You can find the Background of the slide (created when captured) in the Library, and use the right-click menu to edit it with a graphical application like Photoshop. Maybe you'll have to move/resize the added objects (which depend on the mode you used while capturing the software simulation). Cropping is only possible if you do rescale the whole project with Modify, Rescale Project.

This work flow has existed since many versions, the version is not important at all for this question.
