Captivate 2019 - publish to youtube with closed caption

Using 2019 - non responsive project. Created a slide with some CC. I can see the CC in Preview=>Project  I then Publish As Video and and selected YouTube SD. The mp4 got created but when I play it in Windows Media Player or in VLC , it does not show the CC.

Couple of questions.

1)  How do you add CC to an MP4 generated by Captivate ?

2) Is there a way to make Captivate export the SRT files that describe the closed captions in the slides?. If it did, I can supply it to the media players to see the CC superimposed on the mp4 files,  or burn the SRT file into the mp4 (using Premiere?) to create a new mp4 that I can upload to youtube.

3) Does youtube/linkedin-learning accept mp4 without cc and they auto-generate the CC themselves and burn them in?

Looks like in captivate 2019 you can only generate an mp4 without CC and upload it to youtube - but CC is an important function that cannot be ignored.

Any suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

CC in Captivate is part of the playbar due to the need for synchronisation with the timeline. For that reason CC can only be used in interactive HTML output, not in passive MP4 output. After all, it is an eLearning authoring tool, not a video creating tool. In eLearning interactivity is crucial, and gets lost in passive video output.

This explains why the answer is NO. It is a pity that Captivate doesn't accept nor produce SRT, I agree.

Thanks for your response. Here are some things I found as a workaround, painful as it may be.

The following is for non-responsive project (blank project)

1) Record the audio only into the slide but don't do the CC. Publish to video (mp4). Use 3rd party or AdobePremiere 2021 to create the SRT file and burn it into the MP4.  This option will cost extra money on top of captivate.

2)  Record the audio into the slide, and also do the CC from within Captivate. Then preview the project (you will see the CC)  and record the preview window using a video-capturing tool such as OBS. This will create a mp4 with CC burned in. No additional cost on top of captivate -- but the CC creating experience in captivate will be tedious while trying to match the CC text to the audio timing

Thanks.
