Captivate 7 record window displays on screen capture - Windows 10

When I record screen captures using Captivate 7 with Windows 10, the red record window displays on the recorded screen capture and distorts the screen resolution.

I placed the record window exactly around the following window, so my screen capture should look this way:

Here are my recording settings:

I also tried changing the resolution settings of the application I’m recording (not MS Word, just chose that to show settings window), and it does the same thing with the record window displaying on the capture with distortion. I saw one other post similar to this using Captivate 6.1, and the outcome was it's a bug. Has the bug been fixed for Captivate 7? Or could this be a compatibility issue with Windows 10? Unfortunately, the company I work for requires Captivate 7, so I can't upgrade if that's the only fix.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

My suspicion is this WOULD be a Win10 incompatibility since Cp7 would not have been built with the ability to test for changes introduced with Win10.

The easiest way to confirm is that you download and install the Trial version of Cp9 to see if it DOES fix the issue on Win10.

Even if your company does NOT intend to upgrade, at least you will then know the answer in a very short time rather than guessing.

Thanks for your reply, RodWard. I installed Cp9 as you suggested, and it is still behaving the same as Cp7 with the red record window displaying on the screen capture, unfortunately.

Any other suggestions?

I think this must be a  Windows 10 incompatibility.

I suggest you log a bug with Adobe about it.  I cannot reproduce the error or test it because I'm not currently running Win10.

I have heard some users say they had weird errors when using a secondary monitor.  If you are using a dual monitor setup, try disconnecting one monitor and just using the primary monitor for capture.
