You may need to drag the resulting file to the library, or update the modified file in the library.

Right click an object on the stage, select 'Find in Library.'

There should be a color bullet that turns red to indicate the object has been modified outside of Cp.

Right click and select 'update'...

To which output do you publish: SWF or HTML? What is the format of the video files that you inserted? If your goal is HTML output, you could use the Media encoder itself to convert to MP4 (H264 codec) and import that video. Maybe the video format is not recognized by Captivate. For SWF output video will be converted to FLV
