Captivate 9 - Responsive Project BreakPoints

New Here ,
Apr 19, 2016 Apr 19, 2016

Hi All,

I was just hoping to get some clarification in regards to breakpoints within responsive projects.

I understand you can set up to five breakpoints within your project, but I was wondering how much control you have over how your content is displayed on devices that fall outside of/ in between the break points you set?

Is it a case of needing to set strict breakpoints for devices your learners most commonly use, and say that the content is only accessible on certain devices?  Or are there any tips any of you have on making your content adapt to and best fit resolutions  outside of the breakpoints you set within captivate?

Many Thanks,

If you set up position and size correctly, in between breakpoint views the content will have the same look as in the 'higher' breakpoint. You can see this clearly when you Preview: make the browser window smaller and you'll see how content will shrink (if setup is OK, good way to check) until you reach the width of the second breakpoint. If the layout is different for that second breakpoint, you'll see the change. Id you continue to reduce the size of the browser window, you'll keep the layout of the second breakpoint view (with shrinking content) until you reach the 3rd breakpoint etc.
