Course launch fails

I'm testing courses on SCORM Cloud and on my company's internal LMS. Some courses launch successfully, most get stuck at the spinning graphic. Quiz enabled, SCORM 1.2. The SCORM Cloud folks showed me the following error messages in a screenshot. What does it mean?

Can you try adding a short blank slide at the beginning of your project.  Time that blank slide for about half a second and make sure that slide is NOT locked in the filmstrip view.  I'm wondering if perhaps you currently have too much content on the first slide for this project.

Also, since you are publishing to HTML5, make sure you do not have any SWF widgets, preloaders, or other Flash objects included in the project.  (Look at the HTML5 Compatibility Checker in the Project menu.)

I applied the fixes I found discussed here:
Is Captivate 2017 compatible with Mac OS 10.13 (High Sierra)?

Turning off the playback bar was a temporary fix for a default template that was also not loading. Also installing the "hotfix_MAC" files provided by Apple and accessible from the linked dropbox account might have done the trick. Not sure if it's an either/or or combo fix.

FYI, these problems possibly started to occur the moment I went from a trial install to a subscription. I eventually uninstalled and reinstalled today but that didn't seem to fix anything, while the "hotfix_MAC" files did seem to.

So, I can now launch my files in Chrome but not Safari (and I assume IE, and I have to make sure they launch everywhere).

Thanks for the suggestion Rod (as always, you rock!). I always forget about the HTML5 Compatibility Checker AND I typically load up all my visible and hidden objects that display for the rest of the project on a short first frame. Plus whatever js I want to use! Perhaps all that is killing the launch, too?

Why would a file launch in Chrome but not in Safari?

It's called "HTML5 Tracker", not "Compatibility Checker", right? Nothing shows up in it.

Ah...you're on a MAC running High Sierra!  I clean forgot about that being a possible issue.

Correct, its called HTML5 Tracker.  I was going from memory.  If nothing shows there then it would mean the issue isn't due to SWF components.

I still recommend you have a blank slide at the beginning.  And always remember that the BEST way to test any HTML5 output is ALWAYS to run it from a web server.  Some browsers nowadays DO NOT work well when trying to run HTML5 content locally.  Use the environment the output is designed for.
