Creating non linear interactive video

New Here ,
Jan 27, 2016 Jan 27, 2016

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to create non-linear interactive video in adobe captivate 9?

I would like to design a video course with multiple branching options depending on the users answers along the way.

Thanks,

Emmanuel

You should need different video clips, and insert question slides in between the video clips that are each on one slide.

You can create branched interactive courses in Captivate, but video is NOT an interactive format.  By using the term video, are you referring to Captivate's SWF or HTML5 output, or are you thinking about  MP4 video?  Your use of the term may be confusing the issue here.

Thanks for your quick reply RodWard !

I think that "branched interactive course" might be the technical term that best refer to what I am looking to do.

I dont mind what the final output would be but say I would want the video to play until a question is asked, it would then pause, and by clicking on one of the option on the screen, a corresponding video segment would start playing.. and so on...

There is a learning interaction, Scrolling Text, that can accept input from the user. The input will be stored in an associated variable. If you have a LMS that can retrieve values of variables, that is what you could use. A Text Entry Box can do the same.

Be aware that if you are accepting user input text via either of these methods you may find that displaying the text from a variable will only allow you to see the first 150 characters.  That seems to be the current limit.
