I've created a drag and drop activity. The dragging and dropping works OK, but when I click the 'submit' button the text from this, and all the other, buttons on the page disappears and the page freezes.
My plan was for users to drag the correct words from a selection at the top of the page into a box at the bottom of the page, click submit and either move onto the next page (if correct) or try again (if not).
Can anyone suggest why the button text is disappearing and the freezing is happening? Pic attached of the settings I'm using.

Could you post a screenshot of the timeline? I see that you have changed the Pause for the D&D to 30sec, why? And then you use a command that is meant for remediation when using a Next button on a content slide." Return to Quiz" will replace the normal 'Go to Next slide' for that Next button when coming from a question slide. But I thought you were talking about a D&D slide? The Failure action (which has no sense IMO) will only be done after exhausting the 99 attempts. I think you misunderstand the design of D&D. Success/Failure actions are executed the same way as for normal question slides.

Thank you for your reply. It's highly likely I have misunderstood the design of a D&D as I have never used one before.
Perhaps I need to start again. Would you be able to suggest the best way to create an activity in which students can choose the right words from a selection on the screen by dragging them to another area of the page. they need to be able to repeat the activity if they get it wrong and move on if they get fed up and don't want to keep trying.
I changed the pause because the slide kept jumping on before the activity had been finished.
I'm not clear what 'auto select correct answers' means - would you be able to explain? Is the pause the cause of the disappearing text? Should I not have buttons on a D&D slide? I'm so confused that anything seems possible right now!
All advice much appreciated.

Hi,
you can understand every available feature of D&D with the below link.Adobe Captivate Help | Drag-and-drop interaction (Cp 7)
Disappearing Text from the buttons is unusual thing I have not seen. Can you please share the cptx file with one slide to look at the issue.
You can share the file at "dgp at adobe dot com."

Is it really not possible to take a real screenshot (I don't know which OS you are using, but Windows has Snipper)? Photos are barely readable. There is one object that has a much shorter timeline?
Did you keep the Submit button? Normally it pauses the slide at 1,5secs, you changed it to 30secs and that is normally not necessary!
@Devraj I tend to disagree that the Help pages you are pointing at explain everything. Where can you find that using a simple action for an individual drag action by the user will release the playhead in the Help? This is causing a lot of users problems, because they do not know that only replacing those simple actions by standard advanced actions will prevent the playhead from continuing on the slide and jump to the next slide. Maybe that is happening here with the OP.

I've now attached a better screengrab. Thanks for the tip about snipper - I'm more of a mac user (hence the probs with Captivate) so I'd not heard of it.
The object that has a shorter timeline is just a note to myself to fix the slide; all the others run to the end of the slide.
I really appreciate your help with this; in general I've struggled with the help pages.
Any further comments much valued.

The submit button is pausing the slide at 30secs, but that is exactly the duration of the slide. There is no inactive part, which is not a good idea.
Did you change the Failure action, I told you this command has no sense whatsoever. And get back to the normal duration of 3 secs for the slide, with the pause set to 1,5secs.
There is another button without pausing on the slide, what is its function?
Did you use individual actions for drag actions: if you select a target object there is a button (don't have CP7 on this laptop, since I have to present about 8, I'm on the road) that allows you to define those actions for each dragging to that target? I suppose not.
