Hi there
I am interested in the possibility to loop an effect. I have read some posts and I understand that it is not at all a simple thing to create.
My questions are
1. What JS code I could use to make the effect loop?
2. In general, what are the editable elements of the effect xml file?
Thanks in advance

Create a looping HTML animation would probably be the better way. I have been editing the XML files, mostly for motion effects. Which effect do you want to 'loop'? Problem with most effects is that they will always start from the last situation. That means for a motion path that the object could easily get out of the slide.

Maybe best is to show you the image.
1. The "video" on the phone screen is an animated Gif.
2. The "latest" text is a static text.
3. There is a text caption that scrolls like news at the bottom of the screen. The effect is "Ease in Left". I would like to have that rolling in a loop.
When you say HTML animation, what do you mean exactly. Done in Animate CC or similar?
Thanks Lieve

Why didn't you put it in the animated GIF?
Since it is a motion effect, you would have the problem I mentioned before when looping: it gets in with a motion path, but if you repeat the same in a loop, it will just scroll out of the screen since the same motion path will be used for the most recent starting point. Motion paths always refer to the center registration point as you can see in the red and green indicators in the motion path.
Yes I meant to create it in Animate CC or similar. Since the synchronisation isn ot important, that should work. You can even loop within Captivate (Timing panel). Maybe even an animated GIF will do the trick if you cannot embed it in the other GIF.

I did not put it in the animated GIF because I did it from a movie.
Do you know if there is a version of Adobe Animate that is NOT in the Creative cloud?
On another hand, what other options would you recommend? I know GIMP can do the job too but I can do the same with Photoshop that I have anyway. Anything that is close to Animate but free? I am not planning at spending a lot of time with Animate so even if I convince my boss to get it, I am not sure of the value.
On another note, would you please share your experience in adjusting the xml file? What options are there and what really work?
Thanks again

I'm a die hard Adobe user. Animate CC has no version outside of the cloud AFAIK. Flash builder has an older version outside of it ut you cannnot use it for OAM, HTML animations.
Try a abimated GIF in PS. However, to my experience not every GIF made in PS is accepted anymore since CP9. I'm not sure that the motion tweening is accepted.
I told you that I only edited XML files for changing motion paths, only rarely for other effects. Looping is not possible for suer!

I also like Adobe and use PS + we have Gold support etc. for Captivate, but Cloud based software is not a solution for us.
I can do animated gifs in PS but doing that for a text silly effect is just bananas. I will log a request - it is a simple thing really.
Thanks Lieve
Hopefully anyone else has a JS tip for the tweaking of the effect to loop?
Thanks in advance

Which version of PS do you use? Because normally that is also in CC. The CC software is installed on my system, maybe I don't understand well what you mean by 'cloud-based software'. Some applications run from the cloud, but that is not at all the case for Animate CC nor most CC apps. CC Libraries do use the cloud, as is clear with Captivate draft. But the apps themselves are not cloud-based Sorry, maybe I misunderstood your sentence.
I suppose JS can create an anmation, wonder whether looping the inbuilt effects is possible however.
