effect not allowed, effect data invalid

Hello,

my Captivate 8 project have a Problem. I can´t use effects (The standard effects from Adobe). In a other Project the same effect works.

Is there any Option I haveto activate to use effects?

Is this a Responsive project? If so, that's probably why your effects are not working.

I don´t know exectaly. What is a responsive project? In my Project there are no clickbars or something. There are only pictures how apperance while a text is spoken.

I want to use the effect "move from left to right", I don´t know if it called in english so, i use captivate in German.

The Effect panel is shown, i can choose the effect and then there is a message, that the effect-data is invalid

Motion effects are not possible in responsive projects, but then they are not visible in the Effects list. Did you already try to restart Captivate? Probably refresh the Preferences: there is a batch file in the subfolder Utils under the installation folder.

I have restart Captivate and my PC.

Refresh the Preferences: Where do I found it exactly?

Look in the installation folder of Captivate, there is a subfolder 'Utils' that has a file that you can execute to refresh the Preferences. Captivate must be closed when doing that.

Also, clear the cache.

Done but it still not work..any other ideas?

I'm out of ideas. Preferences reset, cache cleared should have taken out possible corruption.

It must be some corruption in that specific project. Did you try if it works in a new project? If yes, try copy/paste slides to a new project with same resolution.

I try to copy/paste the objects to an new empty project. The effects works there, so I machine the effects there and copy/paste it back to the original project.

So if anyone have an other Idea why it don´t work in the original project, let me now
