Hi LibTrainer and welcome to our community
I see someone else has offered one possible solution.
However, I'm doubtful that the configuration file would be corrupt
from the word go. Had you been using Captivate a while and suddenly
it began misbehaving, I might lean that direction. But this sounds
like the first attempt at recording.
You say nothing happens, so I'm assuming you aren't seeing
the recording dialog where you can click the drop down to select
the application you would like to record.
Questions/Suggestions
1. Was Captivate installed with administrative privileges? I
have seen countless issues where the PC is locked down too tight
and this causes major headaches with Captivate. So it's possible
that you will need to get your IT folks to relax restrictions a
bit.
2. Doesn't sound like you are making it this far, but once
you do... Make sure your Captivate project files (these have a .CP
file extension) are stored on your local C drive and not on a
Network.
3. You aren't possibly on a dual monitor setup are you?
Hopefully you will find something that helps sort the issue.
Please do post back with the fix once you find it.
Cheers... Rick
