Help with feedback for multiple text entry boxes and drop down menus.

I have created a form on a captivate slide with multiple text entry boxes and drop down menus. I would like to provide feedback to the user on whether they filled out the form correctly. How can I do that?

I can't remember what I did last time as it has been a while.

You will need to write a conditional advanced action that is checking all entries. Both TEB's and dropdown interactions have associated variables. You will have to check the value in those variables with the conditional action and show previously hidden text (or other objects) based on the result of the condition.

This is an old blog post, only for multiple TEB's: One Submit button for Multiple Text Entry Boxes? - Captivate blog

Thank you for your reply, Lieve! I had hoped you would be on today.

I found your blog post after I asked and I think it will lead me the right direction. I have one issue: My variables for my drop downs are not showing in my variable box. Do I need to create a variable and then assign it to the drop down?

I am used to the action of TEBs where I can create the variable while creating the TEB.

I am using Captivate 8.

Thanks so much, Lieve!

I'm mostly around here

For widgets, nor learning interactions, the variables are created automatically. You have to define them, before they exist. I know that it is confusing, because for a TEB it is created. Inconsistency but that is my personal opinion. Maybe some links to other blog posts where you can find some tips:
