Issues with Captivate HTML5 output on Androids

Community Beginner ,

I am working on a mobile learning initiative for my company where I built an app that includes multimedia for educational purposes. I am trying to deploy a few mobile demos using Captivate 7 to export content that was originally swf based as HTML5. I have been experiencing issues with Android.

First I receive an alert with the following information: This browser does not support some of the content in the file you are trying to view. Use one of the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 9 or later
  • Safari 5.1 or later
  • Google Chrome 17 or later

Second, I notice the the audio that was apart of the original swf output is no longer working.

I am using the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and original Kindle Fire. Keep in mind that the files work on iOS devices using both Safari and Chrome (although I still recieve the same alert on Chrome).

Please advise.Android_Error_Alert.png

Not all browsers are HTML5 compatible. Which browser are you testing it on? Is the audio attached to a slide or an object?

Hi cghant,

Can You check your Captivate 7 version(Help-->About Adobe Captivate)? if it is 7.0.0.118, please update using Help-->Updates. With 7.0.1.237, you should be able to view HTML5 content on Chrome browser on Android?

Captivate doesn't support Android browsers. It should work well with Chrome on Android.

Thanks,

Sankaram.

Sankaram,

Thank you. I am going to update Captivate to 7.0.1.237 and export those files again. Hopefully it works. I will follow up with the results in this thread.

Sankaram,

You are correct. I updated Captivate and used the HTML5 tracker to eliminate features that weren't compatible. Now the new files are working fine for me on the Android using Chrome.

Do you know of when Captivate HTML5 output will be supported on the native Android Browser? Also how does Captivate HTML5 output work with Windows 8.1 devices?
