How does Presenter integrate with Captivate and when would someone want to use Presenter? I've been using Captivate 3, but haven't used Presenter before.

Hi jay fresno

Presenter has many facets to its operation. Basically, as I understand it, it works similar to GoTo Meeting or WebEx, by allowing the presenter to share their desktop and viewers watch. There is also a stand alone presenter where you use Microsoft PowerPoint to create the presentation, then insert Captivate movies as elements in the PowerPoint presentations. Then you create a presentation that would be used as stated above, or by packaging into something that might be burned to CD.

Hopefully someone more familiar with all the nuances of Presenter will chime in to offer more insight.

Cheers... Rick

Articulate Presenter enables you to create Flash presentations (swf) from your PowerPoint presentations. You can animate your slides, add audio, quizzes, interactivity and other flash and swfs to the presentation. So you could create a software simulation in Captivate, for instance, publish it and insert it into a blank PowerPoint slide. Then you can publish your slides using Articulate Presenter.

You can check out some of the Articulate presentations on Articulate and see how they incorporate simulations into Articulate: http://www.articulate.com/products/ao-tutorials.php
