Hello,
I have the newest version of Captivate Classic 11.8.2.254.
I am trying to Preview in HTML one of my projects which I created in 2022.
When the system sends me to the browser there is only an endless loading icon and nothing happens.

Second thing which I think is related to it is that I can't preview the file in my LMS. U upload the SCORM file and I see endless loading icon in my LMS. I can successfully upload the file but when I try to preview the project - again endless loading icon.

1. What can I do to preview the project in HTML?
2. What can I do to use my cptx file and "Publish" it to SCORM and use it in my LMS?

Please help with this one.

That version is buggy, I still keep to 11.5.5 for real jobs.

Some ideas because it is most guessing. Did you check the HTML tracker? Compared with 11.5.5 this version took out a lot of SWF-related features. Some of them did work fine in 11.5.5. I am thinking about the Learning Interactions, Slide transitions but there may be more. Did you use any of those in this project?

Do you have a 'heavy' first slide?  Like video, audio, lot of animations, long duration....

As for the SCORM published file:

The HTML tracker will point out which items/workflows in the project are not supported for HTML output, but it is not perfect.

To me 11.5.5.553 is the most stable version I ever used (I am on Windows) which explains why I hesitated to replace it by 11.8.2. Now I am lucky to have two systems, because for testing version 12 you need to switch to 11.8.2 because the installation file structure and the file extensions need to be changed. I keep 11.8.2 and 12 for testing on my Surface Pro. That is the

As for the SCORM published file: did you try to upload it to SCORM Cloud to see if the problem could eventually be due to the LMS, not to Captivate?

Thanks for your answer Lilybiri.

It seems like an issue with the Captivate version. The content is just a simple presentation - no transition, no animation, just screenshots and audio. The first slide is a 3-second intro with picture and voiceover.

I've checked the SCORM Cloud.

Firstly, what can I use HTML Tracker for?

Secondly, how can I downgrade my captivate?

Thirdly, I use cpt with my whole team in the company, do you think I should recommend them to switch the cpt version to 11.5.5?

I keep 11.8.2 and 12 for testing on my Surface Pro. That is the reason why I can tell that both versions suffer from bugs, compared with 11.5.5.

If you don't need version 12 at this moment - although marketing will be angry at me - and you are on Windows, I recommend to keep with 11.5.5. Mac users on more recent OS need to use 11.8.

Great! Thanks a lot for your help. You are very helpful.

I think it is important to say what the best practice in specific cases is. If the version is buggy, the users should be informed by the company. It would save a lot of time if you didn't have to troubleshoot for many hours looking for the solution. Now, I'm aware of that and not frustrated anymore.

Thanks again!
