We have a project to create eLearning classes for a new Platform we will launch soon. We have Adobe Captivate 9 installed on a computer available for staff to record videos on specific topic so we can them combine all to create the classes.
The problem we have is when a user logged in, they got the message "Free diskspace is very low. Recover some hard disk space by cleaning the project cache. To do so....... >Geneal Settings)." On that computer we have a second drive installed to save all the videos created so we do not use the space on the c:drive.
My question is how can I set up Captivate to save on that drive for all the users to avoid having this message all the time.
Thank you!
Hi there
Perhaps try clicking Edit > Preferences > General Settings and adjusting the save locations as shown below?
Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick,
I did that, but as soon as we close and reopen, the message still appears. Also I need to change the setting on all my user profils.
Thank you!

What do you mean by: "...all my user profiles"?
Are you using roaming profiles?
Is Captivate actually installed on the same machine you are storing the CPTX files or are you using some kind of server-based installation?

We need to log in on the computer and we have a profil set up based on our credential. So I cannot access other profils (drive location) with my current profil. Either the user connect or I log in as the admin of the computer.
Is this clear?

We used Active Directory to confirm access so the computer created profil for each user.
Is it making sense?

Not yet. Are you able to still access the same Captivate version if you log onto any PC in your network, or ONLY if you log onto THIS particular PC?

Captivate is intalled on one computer in our network not on the network. Users need to go and log on that specific computer to be able to work with Captivate. So no other PCs in our network has Captivate. Each computer is sett up to create profil that connect to our Active directory to provide proper permission to system on the network.
Is this better?

Setting up your cache and default project location to an alternative drive will help avoid this message, but if you are getting it before you begin authoring, the hard drive is over filled.
Did they re-stage the computer back to the original install of the operating system before installing Cp9?
If not, I would suspect that you have other users than Rick with user profiles stored on this machine. One option, with the help of an IT admin, is to archive and remove old user profiles for users who are no longer authorized to use this computer.
Another, more time consuming, approach is to review and remove large files stored on the hard drive. Again, this will take the support of an IT Admin, as the user account you use will likely only have the option to search your files.

...Users other than Rick...
LOL, that was my own screen capture in a vain attempt to try and help.

We did clean up the c drive and the message is now gone. However the problem will happen again if I cannot have as the default the new local drive for publish and project cache. This computer has more than 20 different profiles. Now my question is, do I have to change the default locations one by one for each different user profiles or is there a way to set up the default locations for all user going on this computer?

You will need to set them up individually if all 20 users need to author content with Captivate.
However, I suggest you also need to get a computer with a bigger hard drive. It's not hard for Captivate projects to clog up even a sizeable hard drive. Your current one seems to be waaayyyy too small. Large hard drives are not expensive nowadays. Get your IT department to help you out here.

It is already done. We should upgrade the computer during the summer time.
So now I need to change the default on all our users.
Thank you.
