Hi, I have this course that I'm building. I need to insert multiple videos. 1 per slide. I manage to insert the videos in .mp4 and when I export to HTML5 output, the first video is working well. Then all other videos does not work. I just hear the sound but can't see the video. Also, if I go back to the first video that was working, it does not show up again, but I can hear the audio.
As soon as you have more than 1 video in the project, the first one works well the first time you see it, then if you go back you only hear the audio, not the images. All other video in the project does not show up but we can still hear the audio.
I'm using the latest version of Captivate 6, output to HTML5.
Thanks!
Hi there,
Welcome To Adobe Forums.
Can you please insert the video as the "Event Video" and then try to publish the output as HTML 5 and view the output.
Also can you please try with any other sample .mp4 file and then view the output as HTML5.
Thanks
Loveesh

Yes! That's right, if I insert the videos as Event-video, it works well now. Thank you!

I am having the exact same issue when publishing to html5. I see that inserting the video as an event video does fix that problem.
However, I am relying on my video to be used as a slide video because I need the slide and video timing synced so that I can display other objects (text, buttons, etc) at certain times during the video. Has there been any other working solution found that would still allow me to insert my videos as slide videos?
Thanks,

I will let Adobe confirm but I don't think it's doable. They need to make some changes in Captivate in order to be able to do that. Right now it's not possible.

Thanks for your response.
There has to be something causing this bug. I say that because I have
gotten the same exact videos to play in another captivate html5 project as
Slide Videos and everything works great. I'm not sure what is causing it or
how to fix it though.

I would really love to be able to play videos sync with the slides. I'll keep looking for a fix and post the solution here if I find something. Please let me know if you find something.

I found that the videos (from captivate html5 output) appear to work fine
when played locally in my ipad's browser, but the same project doesn't work
correctly in any other browser on the computer. I thought I'd share. Not
sure why or what the means.

I think I have finally found the cause of this issue. Adobe said it was probably all of my advanced actions causing the problem (after about 3 hours online with them and sharing my screen). Upon further testing and experimenting...it was not my advanced actions causeing this (thankfully).
Here is what I found and hopefully it helps anyone else who has experienced this...
I had a background image that was placed on my master slide, which was being used across my whole project. I found that, for some reason upon playback in html5, that background image (from the master slide) was being brought forward and put infront of the slide videos on each slide. This is why, when viewing the project, it appears as though the video doesn't show up but you can still hear the audio. The video is actually there, it is just being covered up by that image from the master slide.
So...what I did was remove images placed on the master slide. In photoshop, I created the same background image that I wanted and made it the exact size of my captivate project. Then, back in Captivate, on your master slide you can upload an image as a background by clicking the folder icon where it says "Background". This seemed to solve the problem.

Interesting... Thanks for the tip! I will have a look.

Did you try to merge that background image with the background? And were the settings of the video slides perhaps with 'Master slide objects on top'?
I'm just curious, always avid to learn about solutions.

I have not seen an option to merge an image with the background. And yes, I
had "Master slide objects on top" UNchecked the whole time.

When you insert an object on the master slide, the right-click menu has the option 'Merge into background'. Not sure this will help, but doesn't take a long time to try.

Cool tip, thanks. Yes, I think this would produce the same results I had,
as this is essentially what I did except I just used photoshop to make my
background and then imported the image as the background.
