Problems publishing Captivate with Flash animation as F4V.

I need to publish my Captivate project as a F4V with Fixed Frame Rates file so that it can be viewed on YouTube. I have no problems publishing when it is a simple Captivate file without flash animation.

However, when I insert a Flash animation into my Captivate project with the audio embedded within the animation file, the audio begins in the wrong place and keeps looping when I publish it as a F4V with Fixed Frame Rates file. When I publish the project as a SWF or PDF file, everything works fine.

I then tried to insert the Flash animation into my Captivate project without the audio, and added the audio separately on the Captivate slide itself. When publishing it as a F4V with Fixed Frame Rates file, the audio starts in the right place and no longer loops, however, the animation gets stripped out.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? What can I do to fix this problem?

Hi, Rajaraman

Yes you can add a swf to a .pdf.

If you have Acrobat, here's what the commands are in my version which is X (though I think even version 8 allowed for this).

Click:

View > Tools > Content > Add or Edit Interactive Object > Multimedia > SWF or multimedia object (FLV, MP4, MOV, etc)

Or, if you use FrameMaker, you can embed a SWF or multimedia object (FLV, MP4, MOV, etc) into the FM page and publish as PDF. That works as well.

Hi Rajaraman,

You can directly publish the project into PDF from Adobe Captivate.

Click on File menu - Publish.

in the publish dialog box, under output options, check 'Export PDF'

check screen shot for more information.
