Problems with Captivate 2017

New Here ,
Aug 24, 2017 Aug 24, 2017

I am having several problems with Captivate 2017. It seems not to be functioning properly.

*Playback of a single slide plays two slides, not one.

*I insert a blank slide and edit it, but a blank slide remains in the filmstrip even after saving.

*I select a slide for deletion, I right-click and select Delete, but Captivate deletes the next slide, not the slide I selected.

I've been using Captivate for many years, but have never seen these types of errors.

Is this an issue of updates and bug fixes?

Thanks

I'm around here daily,, and it has been about 4 months that Captivate 2017 was released. You are the first to mention this type of problems, which leads me to assume something  is awry on your system.

Since you have used previous versions, did you follow the guidelines in the Release notes?

Did you try to clean the Preferences, clearing the cache?

There must be a conflict somewhere.

Are you running Captivate as Administrator? Everything is installed on your system, you don't use a networked drive (also not for the CP files nor the cache)?

Are you on Windows? I cannot help you if you are on Mac.

Thanks for your reply.

My company purchased the software on the monthly plan.

I am running Captivate on my laptop hard drive.

Using Windows.

Try to delete these folders while Captivate is closed:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Layouts

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\SampleProjects

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Interactions_10_0

Don't worry, those subfolders are copies of original folders under the installation folder. They may be corrupted. When you restart Captivate a fresh copy will be installed in the Public documents.

Thanks. I did as you suggested, but I'm still having problems. Captivate displays one slide, but on preview, it begins playing a different slide. It's quite bizarre.

I am out of ideas, think that only uninstall/reinstall is the solution.

Same problem here; Captivate won't start in Windows 10. I've used earlier versions of Captivate with no problems but this 2017 iteration won't even start up. No help from Adobe anywhere to be found.

Are you talking about the Captivate application itself not starting, or output published from Captivate not playing?

Just want to be clear.

Have you tried installing the latest update that was released this week?

Captivate 2017 wouldn't open, however after digging around it seems to be a conflict with lavasofttcpservice64.dll (from Windows Event log). I uninstalled Ad-Aware, renamed the .dll to "old.lavasofttcpservice64.dll" in Win/32, and Captivate now opens.

I bought the 2017 version this week so I would think that is the latest update(?) Thanks.
