New Here ,
Feb 12, 2014 Feb 12, 2014

Hi guys,

I want to put a small adobe captivate 6.0 game onto a website but not really sure how. has anyone evr done it before? it is just a simple drag and drop game but am i right in saying i can put this game on the internet and the viewers can play the drag and drop game?

Weebly gives the options to insert the following onto a page, which would best suit a captivate project? sorry for the questions but i am a beginner

Tammy, thanks for your help. I'm in my final class in an Educational Technology program and I have to create an e-Portfolio of projects I've done for my class. One of the projects is a Captivate lesson with a quiz at the end that I did for class and work. It is currently hosted in Blackboard but I need to be able to let my professors evaluate it somehow from my e-Portfolio. Any ideas?

Hmmm, in the Blackboard course, are you a teacher in that course so that you can put your lesson in place there? We give our new teachers their own course page/sandbox to learn in, so I figure maybe that is what you have. Are you able to make your course publically accessible or give the professor a key for access?

If you are just a student in the Blackboard course, without publishing rights, I can set up a sandbox course (no charge, of course) for you on our Moodle project server where you can publish it fully enabled with HTML5 and SCORM. You can set the course up with a key for your professor to use. You can even put all your portfolio resources there and the whole thing could be your portfolio.

Having your portfolio set up in a real LMS environment, whether Blackboard if you have a course page with teacher access there or if you want to use ours, would be ideal over setting it up on Weebly. If you need that sandbox, send me an e-mail at teacher.tammy.moore@gmail.com with your e-mail address and I will get everything else ready to go for you to use.

Tammy! I figured this out! It had to do with my project settings. I just needed to uncheck the Preloader setting. What a relief. Thanks so much for everyone's help!

Odd that the preloader caused issues, but I am glad it is working now. I use the preloader and they are in my Weebly posted swfs. I wonder if the preloader's url was somehow pointing to an incorrect preloader file or wrong type. I have used various versions that are still installed on my drive since I generally don't upgrade but get full new versions. I can still use the old versions that way. When I started to use HTML5 published output and I opened up an old file I would go in and change up the preloader so it wouldn't be pointing to the previous versions default swf preloader. I suspect that the Captivate developers have automated that in a recent patch because I almost never have to change it anymore like I did at first. Either that or I have just have them all nearly updated.

It's here: Select Edit > Preferences > Project > Start And End (Windows) or Adobe Captivate > Preferences > Project > Start And End (Mac OS). I just unchecked the box for preloader. Hope this works for you too!

Thank you for contacting us. However please note the .swf files created with Captivate will not actually work with our Flash element because the element was created for .swf image based files. Very sorry about that.

^^ the reply i got from weebly. very disappointed. does anyone know of any website that will allow to to upload drag and drop swf files??

It is an odd reply considering that I have drag and drop activities made in Captivate and they run fine on my Weebly for Flash format. Here is one that I have - http://justabitmoore.weebly.com/sums-of-ten.html. It is drag and drop. Here is another one that has a page near the end that is drag and drop and I just uploaded that one a few weeks ago - http://justabitmoore.weebly.com/coordinate-points.html. Now, none of mine that I place on Weebly ever have any SCORM on them. I do have the Weebly Pro account. Maybe that makes a difference?

Just in case it is a difference between Pro and the free account, I found out that the free will not let you upload a swf larger than 10mb on the free account. Could that be it?

Some issue with the link. It actually picks up "http://" at the end. Remove that and it launches. It looks good

Oops! Sorry about the poorly formed link. Thanks for catching it, Sreekanth.

Conormc03, yes, I think sending me your Captivate file would be an excellent way to look for a solution. Here is my e-mail again for convenience - teacher.tammy.moore@gmail.com
