"OPEN URL OR FILE" - HOW TO STAY ON SAME SLIDE?

New Here ,
Aug 23, 2012 Aug 23, 2012

Captivate 6.0 (but have experienced same in Captivate 5.5):

I have a button, highlighed in the image below, that opens a PDF file.   I also have a second button, outlined in orange in the image below, that will either "GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE", or in some cases, "OPEN [a different] URL OR FILE".

If I click on the first button, it opens the PDF file in another browser as expected, but my Captivate project then continues on.    I cannot figure out how to get it to stay on this slide until the user clicks something that would make it "GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE" / continue.

Question:  When using "OPEN URL OR FILE" how can I get the project to stay on the current slide?   Thanks!

When you click that drop down where you choose to open a new window. The one to the right of where the URL appears, try clearing the "continue playing project" option.

Thanks!  Seems to have gotten me what I needed!

I noticed that option when I had displayed that menu, but it appeared to be greyed out (without a checkmark--as in the screen shot), so I thought it was not active.  However, once I clicked on "New", "Parent" or "Top", I then saw it was checked and also had ability to uncheck it.
