Hello.

I have a random shape (the square with bent corner) appearing on a slide that does not belone there. I cannot delete it.  It does not appear in the timeline.  I have tried replacing (copy and paste) the slide from another project and it reappears upon saving.  How do I remove this shape?  It continues to carry over when trying to replace the slide and it does not show in the filmstrip.  Have tried going out and back into Captivate as well.

Thank you for any assistance.

Since at this moment there are two completely different versions active, it is important to know which version you are using. From the screenshot I detect that it is NOT version 12. You find the full version number under Help, About Captivate.

Did you check the master slide for this slide if it has not that shape? Or do you have objects on a previous slide which are timed for the rest of the project? Is this slide created from scratch or is created using a software simulation?

Hello,

The version is 11.8.1.219, the master slide does not have that shape, the shape is used several slides back but there are no scripts attached to it. This slide is from a template.

Captivate Classic has no templates, can you explain what you mean by 'from a template'?

I didn't ask about a script, but about checking the Timing Properties for that shape on the slide where it appeared originally.

We have premade templates we create and duplicate thru each project. I did check timing and execution of any actions which there are none for that shape.

Select that shape on the slide where it first appears and the check the Timing tab to see if it is set to be timed for Rest of Project.  Provide a screenshot of the settings if you can.  That would help.

Each object in Captivate has a timing, please check the Timing Properties panel which you can open from the Window menu. That has been my question from the start, since you found that shape in a previous slide.
