reverse highlight

In the Help > Getting Started > Tutorials that Adobe provides with Captivate, often there is a highlight box that is transparent and the background around the highlight box is tinted with a semi-transparent color. The color lets the background around the highlight box show through, as if looking through a tinted lense. For example, you can see this effect in the Edit tutorial in slide numbers 4, 7, 10, and 32.
Can anyone explain how to achieve this effect in Captivate? (I'm using version 3)

Hi there!
Open a highlight box (Insert > Highlight Box) and click the option to "Fill Outer Area" on the main tab of the highlight box properties. You can then play around with the fill colors and the amount of transparency to get the effect you want with the "reverse highlight box".

Wow, thank you Larry -- that is so simple, I don't know how I missed the solution. Was the Fill Outer Area option available in version 2?

Hi marybelleanne,

Yes, the Fill Outer Area option is available in Captivate 2 also.

Hi: I have added some reverse highlight boxes to open and close at certain points of the audio. They work fine in the preview but when I publish they do not work. I just get the background and the slide stops at the end of the audio. If I push the bottome slider a little I get the highlight boxes I put in. Any ideas as to what I did wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!
