Hi,

I have just started using captivate. I am particularly interested in adding interactive simulations for students. Your guidance and comments are welcome.

Are you talking about simulations for software training? I started using Captivate especially for that feature to offer interactive assets to my college students quite a lot of years ago.  I was teaching a lot of software applications. Captivate makes it easy to capture such a simulation, and I recommend to capture immediately in 3 modes: Demo, Training and Assessment. You'll get three files, with an increasing interactivity. Have a look at some of the eLearning interaction templates at eLearning Interactions and Activities

That might give you some good ideas.

Captivate makes it easy to capture such a simulation, and I recommend to capture immediately in 3 modes: Demo, Training and Assessment. You'll get three files, with an increasing interactivity. You can combine the files in one file, with a menu 'Show me', 'Let me Try' and 'Test me'. There will be need to edit the captured slides, probably to add audio (Voice overs) and/or instruction slides but a lot of the work is done by Captivate with a proper set up. Choose a theme, because the use object styles are always within a theme. For software simulations it is important to know that the used master slide is the Blank master slide, do not mess that one up.

If you are talking about another type of simulation, sorry about this explanation.

You can always post more questions. Creating a good software simulation is the principal subject in any basic Captivate training I'm offering. Good feature to start with.
