Stop slide

New Here ,
Dec 21, 2006 Dec 21, 2006
Hello.
I want to stop at the end of a slide and only if the user presses the next-button it goes to the next slide. I tried the javascript
stop() already, but that's not working.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi Logicare and welcome to our community

This one should be easy to do. On the slide you wish to pause, click Insert > Click Box...

Configure the On success action to be No Action.

Click the Options tab.

Where you see Display for, click the drop-down and select rest of slide

Now click Insert > Button... and configure the button to Go to next slide when clicked.

Configure the button timing so it pauses only at the end of the slide.

Hopefully this helps... Rick

Hi, I read down post. Can be configured to stop the slide of a more simple (whitout button), and all at the same time? with captivate 3.

Thanks, Ana.

Hi Ana

I'm not sure if what you posted means you have a question or if you are simply making a statement or observation. If you have a question, perhaps try asking in a different way? As it is, I'm not understanding what you are trying to say.

Sincerely... Rick

Hi Rick, is a question.
I would like stop all slide of project. That the user go to next slide or continue using the playback control.
I try with your explanation, but I wold like now if possible stop all slide of project without use click box, because with click box insert in all slide and configuration in timeline (5 frame before end the slide for fade out, but when click in playback next slide, jump this end fade out slide).
What is the more easy way with captivate 3?.

Thanks.
Ana.

Hi Ana

Simply put, there is no way to configure slides to pause unless an object is inserted that causes the pause. This normally means a Click Box, Button or a Text Entry Box.

You should be able to control the transitions (fading in and out) by properly timing the Click Boxes or Buttons.

Cheers... Rick
