I have wasted 1 week. tried whatever Gaurav Sharma and Siddharth Gulati, both of them said that everything is okay after that and ALL OF IT WAS JUST A WASTE. Priya seems like she does not know anything . This organization must look in to this. I have wasted so much time trying to fix the glossary issue. NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. and this is reallt annoying. IT HAS BEEN A WEEK and NO AVAILABLE FIX YET.

I was trying to use the Glossary template in Learning Interaction, however after multiple attempts on editing and following the troubleshooting that they told me, still it is not working.

This is a user forum,  yelling at other users will not inspire those users offering free time to help you.  If you want help from those users, please specify the problem, issues you have with Captivate. Do not forget to mention the exact version you are using. The full version number can be found under Help, About Captivate.

I agree that this is a user forum and can be used as a platform to voice out the sentiments of a user. Why am I being juged of yelling whereas the capitalized letters are just used to give emphasis on a matter that was never resolved.

rCertainly you are welcome to have an opinion and express that opinion.  But that same freedom to have an opinion also applies to other users here on the forum.  So, that means that what you might not find offensive, others could see differently.

You are obviously very frustrated.  And your original message was quite scathing in criticism of the Adobe staff members that have already tried to help you.  The problem you will face is that other users that might be tempted to offer assistance will now be fearful that if they cannot resolve your issue, then they will also be severely criticised.

So, if your reason for posting this message was to receive more help, you may have just achieved the exact opposite.  And this would be even more true since you still haven't told us exactly what problem you are having with the Glossary.

Are you willing to calm down, be less critical, and more informative?

The main reason the Glossary Interaction will fail to display is that you have some text characters in either the Term or the Definition areas that are causing the interaction to malfunction.

The usual culprits are characters such as:

  • Parentheses in the Term.  Do not do something like this - Limited (LTD)
  • Curly braces such as { or }. These are used in programming languages just as JavaScript to indicat a function block of code.
  • Chevrons < or >.  These are also used in programming languages such as HTML (for tags) and JavaScript (to represent greather-than or less-than operators)
  • Etc.

To test whether or not this is in fact the issue, try creating a new blank project and then insert the Glossary interaction but add no terms or definitions, then test by Previewing in HTML5.  If that works, then you know there is nothing wrong with your Captivate installation.

Try deleting your current Glossary slide interaction and inserting a new interaction, but not adding terms or definitions.  If you can preview that newly added Glossary successfully in HTML5, then you know there is nothing wrong with your project file, or the Interaction widget.  The problem MUST be in your terms and definition text.
